This Auditing Standard applies to a firm that performs: 

1. an audit of a financial report for a financial year, or an audit or review of a financial report for a half-year, in accordance with the Corporations Act 2001;
2. an audit or review of a financial report, or a complete set of financial statements, for any other purpose;
3. an audit or review of other historical financial information;
4. an audit or review other than of historical financial information;
5.  assurance over information in sustainability reports for the purposes of Chapter 2M of the Corporations Act 2001;
6. assurance over other sustainability information for other purposes;
7. other assurance engagements; and
8. related services engagements.

This ASQM is effective for: 

1. Audits and reviews of a financial report for periods beginning on or after 15 December 2022;
2. Audits and reviews over information in sustainability reports and other sustainability information for periods beginning on or after 1 January 2025; and
