This Standard on Assurance Engagements (ASAE) applies to assurance engagements other than: 

a.  audits or reviews of historical financial information; and 

b.  assurance engagements on sustainability information to which ASSA 5000 General Requirements for Sustainability Assurance Engagements applies.
